  23. true. i have never tried to support psfonts.tar.gz, as i personally
  24. would use ps2pk via MakeTeXPK. Life is too short for me to rebuild
  25. psfonts.tar.gz - i wish someone would!

  43. oh but we we communicate all the time. the current PSNFSS setup
  44. results directly from a detailed conversations bwteen myself, Karl and
  45. Alan Jeffrey.

  47. my attitude is that if you take latex2e and psnfss and the
  48. fonts/metrics files, its internally consistent and extensible. the
  49. problems arise from dvips and (for some people) psfonts.tar.gz. there
  50. is no conflict with the real web2c unix setup.

  52. if Karl were willing to reissue dvipsk with the new metrics, and if
  53. one of us rebuilt psfonts, i think we could get improve a lot. what
  54. does Karl think...?
